Join the tunes under the canopy as Music in the Garden performances return for spring 2023 in the Woodlands Garden Pavilion! These free performances of local, live musicians take place in the screened-in Pavilion so come prepared to enjoy music the great outdoors rain or shine. Glassblowing Demo by Nate Nardi

Join us for a technical demo by glass artist and DG owner, Nate Nardi, and assistant Carolina Hall. *This is a free demonstration but is geared towards our advanced students or experienced glassblowers. There will an opportunity for Q&A.Stop by any time between 10 am and 12 pm. Our glass art gallery will also be open during this time with items available for purchase. Parking is extremely limited as we only have a few spots in front on a gravel lot. Street parking on Weekes and Freeman is free but please take note of no-parking signage and please be considerate of the residences nearby. We encourage using a service such as Uber or Lyft to get to and from this event.

Jackson County Line at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA!Formed in 2006, Jackson County Line has certainly traversed many treacherous and crooked roads to arrive at the distinctive brand of Americana they perform on stages today. Ear sticky songwriting laced with cello, hypnotically placed ambiance, tangible hooks, and toe-tapping power grooves have garnered a growing fan base for the Atlanta five-piece. Fans of Jason Isbell, Lucinda Williams, and Wilco will love this band!
Decatur Library Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Decatur Library is holding a used book sale on Saturday, May 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will take place on the ground floor of the library located at 215 Sycamore St. in the city of Decatur. Shoppers can browse fiction and mystery titles for all ages as well as a variety of non-fiction categories, including history, sports, health and cooking, all at reasonable prices. Masks are encouraged, and shoppers are asked to bring their own bags. Payment can be made with cash or checks.

Beer Garden and Silent Auction 2023

Join us Saturday, June 24, 2023, for our annual Beer Garden & Silent Auction. The event is being held at our Oakhurst Garden in Decatur and will feature locally brewed beer, a bratwurst stand, live music, and a silent auction with 100's of items including gift certificates and vacation homes.

Proceeds from this event goes directly to support Wylde Center’s environmental and garden education program that teaches more than 8,000 students each year in the metro-Atlanta region; Wylde Center’s seven acres of greenspace over five gardens that are open to the public every day and provide important habitat; and Wylde Center’s extensive programs for the greater Atlanta community.

Beecatur 2023 National Pollinator Week Festival

Bzz, did you know the city of Decatur became the very first Bee City USA® in Georgia in 2016?!? Celebrate National Pollinator Week Saturday, June 24 in Decatur (or rather “Beecatur”🐝) on the Square with bees, butterflies, native plants and a wide variety of vendors.

Learn about the critical role bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystem and how to protect them through informative talks and activities at this mini festival. There will be educational activities for kids, plus facepainting, popsicles and more. This event is free.

Decatur Architecture Walking Tour 2023

In this year’s brand new walking tour, come learn about the Architects and Architecture of Downtown Decatur. This tour will focus on commercial buildings spanning 1920 to 1970. Attendees will see a wide variety of building styles from classical to modern. You will walk away with a new appreciation for the historic buildings found in Downtown Decatur. Buildings covered include Blair-Rutland Building, Decatur Presbyterian, Decatur High School and more!

Tour lasts 75 minutes, distance 1 mile.
