West Ponce Music Stroll
September 9, 2023
Patios, sidewalks and parking lots transform into stages for a day of free live music and fun along West Ponce de Leon Avenue. Spend a few hours or all day soaking in the tunes, browse the makers market, pop in for pop-up outdoor fitness classes and join in chalk art festivities. The evening ends with the large stage outside the Marlay House Irish pub. Free and family-friendly.
Summer Covers Concert Series

Indulge in summer music nostalgia with a live concert! This new series of free, family-friendly Friday summer concerts on the downtown square are a reason to sing along. Bring your blankets to the Decatur bandstand on the last Friday of the month and enjoy your favorite local bands performing covers everyone will know. The music starts at 7 pm.
Pan African Festival

Returning for its third year to downtown Decatur, this celebration of Black culture and Black joy engages the entire family and community in a safe setting. Festival-goers experience music, food, dance, artists, live entertainment, a children’s art station and vendors, plus they can participate in a self-guided walking tour of the Beacon Hill community. The event is produced by the Beacon Hill Black Alliance for Human Rights in conjunction with the City of Decatur.
Full Moon Night Walk

Walk through dusk and into the night while listening to the sounds of nature after dark and watching for moonrise. The park closes at dusk, so this is a great opportunity to hike with Ranger Jonah. Wear appropriate footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle, flashlight or headlamp and hiking sticks if you need them. Meet at the South Peachtree Creek trailhead near the Mason Mill Tennis Center. Due to the popularity of this hike, pre-registration is required. No pets.
Fourth of July in Decatur

Celebrate the Fourth of July hometown style. Watch (or join in) the Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown with floats, wagons and bicycles. Gather friends and family to ride, walk or skate in this community parade – it’s for anyone and everyone. Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to join the fun. Claim your space on the lawn for the evening fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m., and don’t forget your red, white and blue.
Decatur Ghost Tour

Discover Decatur's spirit community with tales of murder, passion and tragedy on this walking tour. Begin in the heart of Decatur's historic town square — a common space with the ghosts of Decatur's exciting past! You will never forget your twilight visit to Old Decatur Cemetery. And don't be surprised if you capture orbs and apparitions with your camera. The South is known for its restless ghosts.
Beer Garden and Silent Auction 2023

Join us Saturday, June 24, 2023, for our annual Beer Garden & Silent Auction. The event is being held at our Oakhurst Garden in Decatur and will feature locally brewed beer, a bratwurst stand, live music, and a silent auction with 100's of items including gift certificates and vacation homes.Proceeds from this event goes directly to support Wylde Center’s environmental and garden education program that teaches more than 8,000 students each year in the metro-Atlanta region; Wylde Center’s seven acres of greenspace over five gardens that are open to the public every day and provide important habitat; and Wylde Center’s extensive programs for the greater Atlanta community Live Music performed by Maxwell Street Beverage Vendors: Wild Heaven Atlantucky Steady Hand Cultured South Post Meridiam Inner Voice Three Taverns Tickets Wylde Center Members- $65 Non Members- $75 (Join as a Wylde Center member) Hosts- $175 to $1000 Ticket prices include full access to the beer vendors, the bratwurst stand and a commemorative Wylde Center glass! Beecatur 2023 National Pollinator Week Festival

Bzz, did you know the city of Decatur became the very first Bee City USA® in Georgia in 2016?!? Celebrate National Pollinator Week Saturday, June 24 in Decatur (or rather “Beecatur” on the Square with bees, butterflies, native plants and a wide variety of vendors. Learn about the critical role bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystem and how to protect them through informative talks and activities at this mini festival. Decatur Architecture Walking Tour 2023

In this year’s brand new walking tour, come learn about the Architects and Architecture of Downtown Decatur. This tour will focus on commercial buildings spanning 1920 to 1970. Attendees will see a wide variety of building styles from classical to modern. You will walk away with a new appreciation for the historic buildings found in Downtown Decatur. Buildings covered include Blair-Rutland Building, Decatur Presbyterian, Decatur High School and more!Tour lasts 75 minutes, distance 1 mile. Tickets are required; no walkups allowed.
Rock the Mic: Karaoke Night
